Farm Animal Friends
Immerse yourself in the world of farm animals. Just watching them graze calms my soul. Our animal friends, the horses, sheep and ducks offer a unique perspective on life. They live free connected with the land. Engage with them and appreciate the community vibe they bring, creating a special bond through simple moments.

Interacting with our Animal Friends
Many of our animal friends roam freely on the property. Dogs year-round, ducks during the daytime only, and horses in the winter. You may encounter them during your time here. Respect and patience is always important around animals. The horses are friendly, the dogs too except if your dog gets near someone Rosie is guarding. Rosie is particular and treats other female dogs as a threat. The leash is our friend. Feel free to give love to the horses, they enjoy attention. The ducks are doing their own thing as are the sheep. Lambing time is different. Its fun to give the lambs our personal attention.

Romeo and Julio
Romeo and Julio have lived here over ten years and very bonded to each other. They are very friendly older boys with kind souls. Romeo is curious and will take off your hat if he gives in to his whims. Julio has the softest eyes, and a strong will despite his thirty years.
No trail rides available for guests, but enjoying their presence is encouraged. Feel free to walk into the field and pet them. Mind the gates or they could come looking for your food! Really!

Rosie the Guardian Dog
An alpha guardian dog by nature, Rosie rules. She lives outside, usually where ever the sheep are, and forever on the lookout making sure everyone feels safe and sound with her protective instincts. Our dedicated guardian dog! She is watchful over all the animals but predominately the sheep. She'll keep you at bay until you become her friend. She takes charge with her barking, telling you a predator is near. It's important you respect her decision to protect and serve the animal life.

Quigley
Meet Quigley, "Mr Handsome Pants", my snuggle buddy. His favorite past-times are bossing Journey around or rolling in something stinky. And Journey gives him a run for his money. When he's not trying to steal your heart he's trying to steal your food. Quigley LOVES to eat. It's best not to encourage his portly physique with treats and keep your campfire food out of his reach , it could go missing!

Journey
Meet Journey, the ball of energy who insists on playing with everyone, a real lover who's always on the lookout for a silly adventure. Fun is mandatory with him. Usually found with a stick in his mouth, he has earned the title of 'CEO of the Stick Relocation Program'.

Neighbors Pacho and Ruby
These two friendlies are welcome to roam and play with everyone else. Let's throw a dog party and everyone’s invited! Life’s too short not to eat dessert first! Sharing the land includes animals and humans alike. Even the wild ones.
Sheep
Katahdin sheep are unique, called hair sheep. No shearing necessary, they shed a coat of hair annually and when harvested for meat they have a deliciously mild flavor. Also sheep graze down the pasture weeds and blackberries. An invaluable asset in maintaining invasive overgrowth. A part of the permaculture practices on the organic homestead.

Muscovey Ducks
The ducks are funny. We get eggs and hopefully ducklings. These muscovey duck's purpose on the farm are to eat up the slugs and bugs, give us eggs and hopefully babies and they make for good eating too. Watching them waddle makes me laugh. They have their own way of doing things. They are just good at being ducks. They teach us to be good as being who you are.
